The Setting:
Brasstown Bald is the highest point in Georgia. At just under 4,800 feet, it provides a view of four states on the clearest days (North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia). Visiting in the autumn season will provide you opportunity to see colorful fall trees. It will also be fairly busy. It took us almost 30 minutes to go the last half mile up the mountain into the parking lot. Some even use the site for astrophotography. It is well worth the trip.
