Autumn Pond Turtles

The Setting:

Little Mulberry Park is in Gwinnett County Georgia. There is a large walking path around a lake. In one such area of the path, a small, still water pond sits off to the side. Maybe it drains into the main lake or it is its own feature. In any case, painted slider turtles frequently rest upon fallen logs to absorb sunlight. I have visited this area twice, once in spring and again in autumn. The fallen leaves resting calmly on the water surface, a mirrored surface, set the stage for darker surroundings sprinkled with color and turtles.
